This has got nothing with Amiga to do I know
But anyone got a ZX-Spectrum 128K for sale? It does not have to be in good condition, most important is if the motherboard is functioning.
Send a message to me if it clicks, I would really like to add a genuine Spectrum to my collection again as I found quite a lot of AY-tunes on YouTube I want to play on the real thing. I do think about adding an AT-keyboard interface, joystick and CF-interface too. Also it would be awesome to try out that mouse interface and mount the whole system in a mini-desktop.
Last time I had a Spectrum it was a +3 that was modified with a Compact Flash interface running ResiDOS, it was a HUGE improvement over crappy old cassette based media solutions but the +3 never really clicked with me and I would rather have a proper 128K instead.
I can however recommend ZXAM and ASP ZX-Spectrum emulators for Amiga if you want to emulate the machine. On a A1200 it almost feels as the real thing considering both computers are wedge style designed.
ZXAM works great on a 030-50 MHz but only functions well with 48K games. ASP works with 128K software too but you will need a fast 040 to be able to get good speed. With a 060 you will be able to run 128K software full speed with ASP.
I should really really kickstart my vintage Amiga programs blog again with a couple of reviews of these excellent emulators!
ASP Spectrum emulator could also remap keys to joystick which was a great feature, but for the most genuine experience I know you want to “q”, “a”, “o”, “p”
