The Amiga 1200 desktop project

I have been reluctantly considering posting information about my latest project. It seems the more you post about a project, the more likely the project will never fly. However I have come quite far on this one so I am taking a chance here.
Anyway, I got inspired to put together one of my A1200 with a final configuration and keep it like that when I toyed with the Indivision scandoubler last weekend.

Baby AT with Amiga 1200 motherboard and Zorro 2 slots
Posted by Retro Amiga User under Amiga 1200 , ProjectNo Comments

I have been searching for this kind of mini tower for years so I was very happy to find one for sale last Sunday. It is a classic Baby AT tower from 1993, personally I think it’s a beautiful tower, very compact and enough space for hardware. When the ATX standard appeared small towers like these where banned from the market for years until small form factor PC’s became popular, the future for PC seems to be notebooks but I still think these Baby AT towers are just the right size for any computer.

This is just a fake actually. I do not have my A2000 on my desk, usually it lives under my bed. And usually my desk is not so clean either although I try to have it organized to minimize clutter.

Amiga 500 Zorro 2 adapter

I got an idea today to try out if the Buddha Flash Phoenix edition Zorro2 IDE controller works in an A500 through an 86-pin to 100-Pin adapter.
It did not work.

Allright, it is time for me to set this blog back on the right track after last post about vintage PC hardware.
Today I got a package of IC-sockets, pin-headers and other nice electronic stuff to have around from Conrad. Conrad is a very complete mail order warehouse, originally from Germany. Now they are in Sweden too. I suggest everyone to order their 800 page catalog at once, it is really fun to read!
