Allright, it is time for me to set this blog back on the right track after last post about vintage PC hardware.
Today I got a package of IC-sockets, pin-headers and other nice electronic stuff to have around from Conrad. Conrad is a very complete mail order warehouse, originally from Germany. Now they are in Sweden too. I suggest everyone to order their 800 page catalog at once, it is really fun to read!

Now my Multivision 500 scandoubler inside the Amiga 500 is securely fastened to the motherboard thanks to fresh precision IC-sockets. Then I got my eye on the Kickstart switch. I tried it out again but somehow it will not work at all. If I put Kickstart 3.1 on the switch I get a corrupted image on the screen. If I put Kickstart 3.1 on motherboard IC-socket everything works as usual.

Very annoying – I was looking forward to run triple Kickstarts in this tuned Amiga 500 monster.

Anyway I have another Kickstart switch in my storage container of vintage Amiga hardware parts so I will try that one out next time. I am also going to figure out a way of mounting the Amiga-bremse inside since space is so tight when running a turbo-board.

BTW, check out this big-tower I got for free yesterday. It is huge, would be the perfect case for an A1200 with Zorro 2 busboard and PPC. Or why not an Amiga 2000 tower?

That A500 looks awesome! But that white thing next to the power cable looks like a external scandoubler. What is it?

Hi!
The external thing that looks like a scandoubler is actually part of the internal scandoubler (!).
It contains a small amplifier (I think 3 watt) for Amiga sound. And also a pass through for 23-pin Amiga video and a VGA-connector for scandoubled modes.
I am going to make a separate blog post about the MultiVision 500 soon with some better images
Have a nice weekend!
