I have added a quick article on my main site about the GVP HD8+ hard drive with some nice images of it. Well maybe Big Book of Amiga Hardware goes down some day in the future and someone needs an image of it, -GVP HD8+ SCSI hard drive- there you go :)

Anyways, I am feeling very positive. This weekend I am going to finish off the kickstart switch on my Amiga 500 and next week I am going to get my Multivision 500 scandoubler shipped to me. It was actually the first auction I have bought off eBay now that I have set up an account for myself on that page. And I think I payed a reasonable price for the item.

The market for scandoublers might be shrinking these days as more and more TFT monitors support more input choices than VGA and DVI, but personally I think it is neat to be able to view output from Amiga directly on a PC-monitor through the VGA port. Naturally in these days of TFT-screens not all flat screens will be able to show scandoubled Amiga screen modes but I am very lucky to have a 23” Sony TFT which does.

Speaking of monitor, I had the opportunity to pick up a Dell Trinitron based flat screen 19 inch CRT from work. I was very tempted to have it around as my Amiga monitor since CRT adapts better to different resolutions. In the end I decided to not pick it up since it was so huge and heavy, perhaps I will regret it 15 years from now when computer enthusiasts begin collecting CRT screens. But there will always be eBay for the future to ;)
