Indivision AGA – New Amiga 1200 scandoubler and Flicker Fixer

Late summer 2008 will see the introduction of a new scandoubler/flicker fixer to the Amiga 1200. If this is something you have missed for your A1200 I suggest you head over to Amigakit or Vesalia and preorder the Indivision AGA 1200 scandoubler /flicker fixer now.
Although the price may seem a bit hefty at first, recent prices of scandoublers and flicker fixers on eBay suggests this is actually a bargain price. I have no doubts I will be getting almost twice my money back ten years from now if I ever get bored with my Amiga 1200. But hey I have to be honest here, I did not preorder it to make big bucks ten years from now, if I did I would have ordered more than one
Individual Computers makes some excellent Amiga hardware IMHO and this is just another neat little hardware device to mount inside your Amiga, keep in mind though that there are no extra clock ports mounted on it
I think the biggest selling points for me are the minimal design and the low power consumption. Currently I have a DCE scandoubler/flicker fixer which gets smoking hot –I actually mounted a tiny heat sink on one of its chips. The DCE scandoubler is slightly messy since it mounts over two chips. No you may not buy my DCE scandoubler, it is going into my A4000 which currently “only” has a CyberVisionPPC graphics card
It is also nice that the new scandoubler supports 24 bit color modes which most scandoublers do not support (most are 16 bit only) so you will finally be able to see all colors in AGA productions in scandoubled modes.
But that is not all, check out the specifications of the new Indivision AGA 1200 scandoubler/flicker fixer on Amigakit and you can also be sure to read a review here when I get mine in September (hopefully).
Update: Indivision A1200 AGA review is here

Looks very promising, but I’ll wait with the order until I’ve seen a review (here or some other place).

You can be sure I am going to post a review once I get one inside my Amiga test lab
