Everyone who knows the difference between an A500 and A500+ has probably heard about OS4 being released exclusively for classic PPC hardware late November (this year, not in 2008, 2009 or 2010+). Well so do I, and I think the difference between the A500 and the A500+ is that some games do not work well on the A500+ (just kidding).

So there is only one small problem, OS4 comes on a CD and with a floppy disk. You boot from the floppy and then install from the CD, however my A4000 is sadly a bit broken and can not use any floppy drive, even external ones do not work at all and only shows up as df1:??? on the Workbench. Anyway there must be a solution to this problem as I analyze it as a programmer and not as a hobby amateur Amiga owner, sadly I have not found it yet.

The easiest solution would be for me to set up my A1200 tower with my BlizzardPPC and BlizzardVisionPPC card. I was actually thinking of selling this as a combo as the demand for BPPC and BVPPC cards are high at the moment, maybe I should stick with them for a while though.

Anyway, I am going to finish this post with a nice picture of my setup of the evening, check out 4 color Workbench in High-res on a 23” TFT, how nice.
