Click Boom was a software company that is most famous for porting Quake to the Amiga. One can only speculate what ID software thought of the extra 8-9 turbo FPS mode of the 060 Amiga 4000 with Quake installed they got in their office as a loan from CB to grant sales of Amiga Quake. Maybe they thought Amiga Quake was pathetic, I think CB was more pathetic. PPC cards was just released but they decided to release only the 68k port, maybe they were hoping people on 030 boards where thinking they were going to play deathmatch all day long on their A2000 special with 52 MB SCSI drive.

Jens, hardware guru of Amiga parts have made some interesting posts on a1k.org about production of new 030 Amiga 1200 and 600 turbocards. The Amiga 600 turbocard is especially interesting considering old Apollo A630 cards go for as much money as second hand PPC  can go for on the eBay.

Lets hope to see them on the Amiga market before the year ends, I am already looking for an Amiga 600 ;)

Amazing whats next?

You may remember my home made Amiga 500 86 pin to 100 pin Zorro slot adapter that I built a couple of years ago.

It did  work with some Zorro 2 cards but it failed to work with the Buddha Phoenix IDE-card (which was the reason I built it).

I always wanted more professional solution if I ever want to mess around with Zorro cards on the Amiga 500 again so when I noticed these cheap A500 Zorro card adapters where on sale on Amibay I ordered one without hesitation. (more…)

Can you spot the fault on this CyberStormPPC Amiga 3000/4000 accelerator?

Hi guys,

With expanding family comes space problems. I need to make some space in our home so I need to let my Gift Top A1200 tower go.

The Gift Top A1200 tower is a super nice tower custom made for Amiga 1200 motherboard, it has an AT PSU with connector for Amiga motherboard, space for PCI or Zorro bussboard and a very neat holder for your expensive turbocard so it stays put.

If you need an image, check it out here.

I should be able to put up a few images here also when I get back from work.

I am only asking what I got it for, which is 80 euro, freight to europe seems to be around 20 euro so lets say 100 euro incl freight. That is for the empty tower and the PSU. Or if you have your ways around Stockholm city you can always pick it up sans shipping charges.

I happen to have a MicroniK 6860 Zorro 2 bussboard that fit perfectly in this case, if you want a deal we can always work something out!
