I have been reluctantly considering posting information about my latest project. It seems the more you post about a project, the more likely the project will never fly. However I have come quite far on this one so I am taking a chance here.
Anyway, I got inspired to put together one of my A1200 with a final configuration and keep it like that when I toyed with the Indivision scandoubler last weekend.
I want to run a Sound Enhancer inside the A1200 together with a Melody 1200 pro. I think the Sound Enhancer really enhance the sound quality of the Amiga and had a spare one without a serial cable that I could use.
So today’s project was more of a proof of concept than final version. It was only halfway successful since I only got sound output from the left channel and I got the most irritating buzz from the Amiga the speakers that magically disappeared when I put my hand a couple of centimetres above the Sound Enhancer. But other than that, it was an awesome first steps and proved that it is possible to mount the Melody 1200, the Indivision, Compact flash adapter and card and the Sound Enhancer inside the A1200 case, now all I got to do is to resolder the right channel so I hear the other 2 channels from the Amiga and tidy up the cables and put the phono output jack besides the VGA connector under the floppy drive.
If anybody knows how to remove the irritating buzz from the sound please leave a message, I suspect I need to ground or isolate the Sound Enhancer with some RF-shield?
Update 080928
I got the sound working on both sound channels and the irritating buzz magically disappeared. The Sound Enhancer board was also quite big, so I cut it down to about 2/3 size. Now I am trying to figure out where to drill a hole and attach the rotary dial. The complete system with 060 runs at 30 watt, I hope the stock PSU will handle that load.
